BiD Student Challenge
The BiD Student Challenge is a competition for business oriented students, that will be held for the third time this year. In a time period of around 8 weeks, approximately 100 students from all over the country will review and improve 30 business plans of entrepreneurs in developing countries. The main objective is that students apply their ambition and expertise in practice to stimulate local private sector development. Teams of 3-4 business-oriented students will work directly with entrepreneurs from Africa, Latin America or Asia.
The student teams will be guided by coaches, who are young professionals of Dutch companies, like last year ABN AMRO and Ernst&Young. They will help the students to review and provide improvements to entrepreneur’s business plans in order to present these successfully to financial investors.
A jury consisting of 6 members will select the top five teams that provided the strongest impact on entrepreneur’s business plans. Based on the pitches of the top five teams presented on the final event, the jury will decide who the winner is. During the challenge, both students and coaches will receive master classes.
The BiD Student Challenge is unique because it is organized by three parties: Aureus, BiD Network and Zuidas Amsterdam Bright City. This is the first year that Aureus is a full organizing partner of the project. The event will take place in January and February.
What do I learn?
The BiD Student Challenge is a large, challenging, nation-wide project. Due to its complexity and size, Aureus is looking for experienced and dedicated committee members. When organizing the BiD Student Challenge, you will work with different companies, both profit and non profit. Together with your committee members, you are responsible for managing the interest of all of these parties with those of Aureus.Tasks are amongst others: acquisition, promotion, contact with the participating students, controlling the budget, logistics and planning.
