Background to Holland Private Equity
Established in 2008, HPE is a successful private equity firm focusing on expansion capital investments in small to
medium-sized technology companies throughout the Benelux and Germany. Companies we find interesting
already have real customers, protected intellectual property portfolios, profitable margins and competent
management teams. They have become local champions but have the ambition to accelerate their top-line growth
through international marketing and sales expansion as well as buy-and-build strategies. As such, these companies
need more than capital to achieve their goal to become tomorrow's market leaders. Recent investment include
firms such as Airborne International (NL), SFC Energy (GER) and Synova (CH).
HPE currently operates with a team of 6 investment professionals spread across two offices in Amsterdam and
Düsseldorf respectively. Given the strong deal flow, HPE is looking to strengthen its team by establishing an
internship position on an ongoing basis.

Role
The internship role will involve an active participation in the heart of our deal sourcing and execution efforts. This
entails the mapping of selected industries (=market mapping), conducting related strategic industry analyses
(based on third-party research, industry journals, trade fair visits etc.), and actively approaching interesting
investment targets. Where applicable, the intern will also gain exposure to the investment process thereby
supporting on valuation, commercial and financial due diligence, managing external advisors involved in
confirmatory due diligence and the preparation of investment memorandums for investment committees.
Moreover, on a occasional basis, the intern may be requested to support in portfolio work of existing investments.

headquarters with international travelling on a ad-hoc basis in case of management meetings or trade fairs.

Skill & Experience Required

The intern should have strong analytical skills. He or she should have some experience in analyzing market trends,
company valuations and preparing business plans and investment memorandums. Entrepreneurial spirit is
important as is an interest in technology-related markets.
Candidates must be in the possession of at least a Bachelor’s degree with excellent credentials from a leading
university or business school. Financial skills and relevant (investment banking / strategy consulting) experience
through previous internships is highly preferred. In addition, HPE’s main business language in the office is English
(no Dutch language skills required).
The internship should be for a period of at least 3 months, but can be up to 12 months if mutually agreed.

Compensation
Euro 1,500 per month to cover Amsterdam accommodation and personal travel expenses. Very good performing
interns receive a discretionary bonus at the end of their internship.
